What's it like to study at UBIS?

Student comments from Segun Adegunwa who is studying an online Bachelor of Business Adminstration at UBIS

What first caught my attention with UBIS when I was searching for business universities on Google was the name itself: University of Business and International Studies. The title was self explanatory and portrayed such a different attitude from other universities that I felt it was a school engineered for the 21st century.

Since I have started studying with UBIS, I have found learning on-line to be very convenient; I love the flexibility. Of course the biggest advantage of on-line courses with UBIS is that my classroom and instructor are theoretically available 24/7. My only excuse for missing class is not getting on-line! Otherwise, everything is available to me on-line with UBIS; I can get announcements, access notes, review assignments, take practice quizzes, discuss questions, chat with fellow students as well as study any time I want.

UBIS on-line courses bring education right to my home; in fact I often find that my family and friends get involved in the course. My kid sisters and brothers have taken an interest in the on-line environment. My parent also look over the shoulder of my on-line studies. Everyone in my household gets involved in my on-line UBIS learning and having the support of my family and friends makes me more likely to succeed in my studies.

I have found that UBIS on-line classes offer more individual attention than regular classes; I have a direct pipeline to the instructor via e-mail, so I'm assured that my questions are answered directly. Many students aren't comfortable asking questions in class for fear of feeling stupid. Internet eliminates that fear. Whatsmore, I often think of a question while I'm studying. Rather that trying to remember to ask it or forgetting it, I can send an e-mail to my instructor. My opportunity to learn is enhanced.

On-line courses through UBIS help me meet interesting people from around the world. On ground, many students are too busy or shy to take the time to get to know their fellow students, especially in large classes. My online UBIS courses provides an opportunity to get to know other students via bulletin boards, chat rooms and mailing lists.

UBIS online courses give me real world skills. By completing my on-linestudies with UBIS, I will be able to include e-mail and web browsing as technical skills on my resume. This will give me a definite advantage since learning how to get information via the Internet opens up a world of possibilities for my personal and professional life.

Time management has been the most important factor necessary for success in my UBIS on-line courses,; without proper organization, my life appears very difficult and disorderly. I make certain my schedules for work and school don't get interrupted or suffer because of the other. I have adopted a style of late night studies. I spend at least 3 hours per day responding to class discussions, assignment and research on a daily basis.

For me, UBIS is a university where I can get a real definition of EDUCATION. The University of Business and International Studies knows how to make its students more active, sharper and brighter by preparing them for future challenges. UBIS is teaching me good thinking as well as foresight, and I'm glad that I've chosen to study with UBIS on-line.
