Computer Scientists will understand the building bricks of computing. They study the theory behind information systems and their application in computer systems. Computer scientists will usually work on theory within areas such as software engineering, human-computer interaction, programming language theory and computer graphics. Computer science will usually focus on computer software, opposed to computer hardware.

Computer science entails computer theory and is not an applied science or a business-orientated field. However, the discipline will usually lead students to more practical areas such as the development of software and database programming as well as IT consulting.
