As a fulltime degree, an online bachelor's degree will usually last three, four (or in some cases more) years to complete.
Bachelor degrees are undergraduate degrees. This means they are often studied after higher education.
Some bachelor degrees may be listed as honour degrees. These generally require a higher academic standard than a pass degree (the alternative type of bachelor degree). Honours degrees identify themselves with '(Hons)' along with the type of award.
Most bachelor degrees are awarded as BA (Bachelor of Art) or BSc (Batchelor of Science). Although there are lots of variations in how these are denoted (e.g. AB, BS, ScB).
Other variants of the bachelor degree include the Bachelor of Economics (BSC(Econ)), the Bachelor of Engineering (BE or BSc(Eng)) and the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm). There are dozens more types of bachelor degree!
Bachelor degrees are growing in popularity in online study. A survey in October 2007 by the Sloan Consortium revealved that 86% of students studying online are enrolled in some form of undergraduate program.
